On Site, ambient plant temperatures are expected to drop significantly after EoG due to loss of process heat. This can lead to condensation and subsequent component corrosion, or hinder operation of temperature sensitive equipment. Heating via the auxiliary steam system has been unavailable since 2018. To mitigate the risk posed by low ambient temperature during defueling, heating previously provided by process heat, will be replaced by electric heating via the General Area Heating Project (4-W634).
Work to be carried out is the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the electric calorifiers for the Domestic Hot Water (DHW) sub-system of the wider H&V system.
